Real Estate sales in December were the highest on record. 2021 was a year marked by inventory shortages and bidding wars for any half decent house that was priced well!
As a result of this there is a real shortage of inventory going into 2022. This is especially true of the detached market, not so much of the apartment condominium market.
What can we learn from this?
- House prices will continue to increase in the short term;
- It is critical that you do not sell your property if you need to buy another one without first getting informed on the options available.
- Until we see the inventory levels rise, prices will continue to have upward pressure.
