Calgary Housing Home Price Index Summary

Hello and I trust that you are enjoying this fantastic fall weather!

A quick summary of Home Price Index (HPI) for residential property in Calgary by property class follows:

For detached property year over year (y/y) prices have increased by 12.9%; however prices are down by 3.2% since their peak in May.

For Semi Detached property y/y prices are up by 10.4% and since their peak in May prices are down by 3.6%.

For condominium apartments y/y prices have increased by 10.7%; and have come down by only 0.4% since their peak in July.

Row (Townhouses) are up the most of all classes y/y at 15.1% and have come down by only 0.5% since the peak in the summer.

It can be seen that townhouses have done the best over the last year.  As always location does impact price. So it is important to consider the more detailed information of location, style and property condition when doing an in depth analysis.
