Tsuut'ina Trail

Calgary’s SW Ring road has a new name!  It will be Tsuut’ina Trail

Check out the really cool Youtube
Here for a "fly through" of the project.

This next phase of the Ring Road around Calgary will be completed in fall of 2021 (if things stay to schedule). It will consist of 22km of roadway and 14 interchanges. This project is being built by Mountain View Partners, a consortium of three major Alberta construction companies.

After this there is only a nine kilometer section from Highway 8 to the Trans Canada Highway at Canada Olympic Park to complete the Ring Road system around Calgary. This section is now under review.

So, how will all this affect the residential neighbourhoods on the corridor route? I expect that those immediately adjacent to the roadway will have negative impacts mostly with respect to noise. This should have (and to some degree already has) a negative impact on property values.  For the great majority there will be a significant improvement in value related to the rest of the city as transportation in and out of the area will be improved.
